Scottish Tours 2027

The Scottish Tours are becoming increasingly popular, but the good news is that we have 2 tours available, we simply need to manage the numbers and encourage a bit of flexibility. Both tours have fabulous golf courses, which need to be played!

High Constables

• Royal Burgess (prime course in Edinburgh)
• Ladybank (outstanding course - used for Navy Champs)
• St Andrews course (Eden or Jubilee - both Links courses)
• Lundin GC (fabulous Links course)

East Lothian

• Gullane 2
• Longniddry or The Glen (NorthBerwick) or Craigielaw
• The Renaissance
• Muirfield

Our aim is to give as many RNGS Members the opportunity to play these courses as possible. To do this, we have agreed that you need to apply for the Scottish Tours, expressing a preference for which tour you would like play. Realism would be good here please. The Tour Manager will decide on invitations to the tours.

We have agreed that those playing in the High Constables Tour will get priority on the East Lothian Tour one year later. Remaining spaces on the East Lothian Tour will be filled by applicants for only the East Lothian Tour, with preference given to those who have not played before or had agreed to be a reserve for the previous year. We will keep a record of applicants over the years to be as fair as possible. 

There will be a cut-off date for application and this will be the end of September 2026 (we would encourage early applications please). We will then assess the applications and make the initial decision on the allocation of Members to either East Lothian or High Constable tour. Members will then be told of their allocation by mid Oct. 

We also have an occasional tour to Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes, Dunaverty and Shiskine. In 2027, we will do this before the East Lothian and High Constables Tours. Outline is:

Sunday 23 May
o   Drive to Ardrossan

Monday 24 May 

• 0900 Ferry to Arran
• Drive to Shiskine
• Play Shiskine
• Drive to Lochranza
• Ferry to Claonaig
• Drive to Campbelltown
• Stay Argyll Hotel, Bellochantuy
• Dinner at Argyll Hotel

Tuesday 25 May

• Play Machrihanish
• Play Dunaverty
• Dinner at Argyll Hotel

 Wednesday 26 May
o   Play Machrihanish Dunes
o   Lunch in clubhouse
o   Depart for East lothian or High Constables Tour
